NSW: Broncos will be hard to beat, says PM John Howard

SYDNEY, Aug 27 AAP - The Brisbane Broncos will be hard to beat in today's National
Rugby League grand final, Prime Minister John Howard said today.

"I probably agree with (St George Illawarra coach) Andrew (Farrar) about Brisbane being
very hard to beat," Mr Howard told rugby league enthusiasts at a NRL grand final breakfast
here.

He wasn't willing to be drawn on a possible fulltime score saying: "I'm not that good".

Mr Howard also congratulated the Wallabies for their win of the Tri Nations tournament
in South Africa last night.

He described the Wallabies as a magnificent team.

"That magnificent team has now won the World Cup, the Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations
Trophy," he said.

"I think the Wallabies did a great job last night and congratulations to them," Mr
Howard said outside the breakfast.

"They are a great team. They are a great Australian team."
