Rensselaer County Executive John L. Buono Thursday vetoed a so-called "sunset law" he said would usurp his powers.
County Legislature Chairwoman Marilyn K. Douglas hedged on the possibilty of a veto override, saying only that the local law will be reconsidered.
One problem is that the 13th Democratic vote needed for an override will not be immediately available. Majority Leader Jason McGraw of Troy is re-entering the hospital for a recurrence of an illness.
